Quyen Nguyen, MD. PhD has been selected as a recipient of a very prestigious grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. This is the 2009 Career Award for Medical Scientists (CAMS), for her work with the Nobel Prize winning UCSD faculty, Roger Tsien, on the use of GFP and metalloproteases in surgery to illuminate tumors and nerve structures.  Only five of these grants were awarded nationally from a pool of 118 applications, and two of the recipients were from UCSD.
